Years before there was a Mcdonald's or a Burger King about every 10 miles, there were smaller local chains. One great one was Howdy Beef Burgers or also called Beef n' Burger. I remember going to the one in Salem, NH, but at least 27 locations were scattered across New England. Howdy's was started in 1960 by William Rosenburg, who also founded Dunkin' Donuts, which you may have heard of :)
