August 23, 1962 – John Lennon married his girlfriend, Cynthia Powell, in a secret ceremony in Liverpool.

August 27, 1963 – The Beatles were filmed while playing at a theatre in Southport for the BBC’s “ Mersey Sound.”

August 25, 1964 – The boys spent the night at the Whiskey A Go-Go in Hollywood.

August 28, 1964 – When the Beatles arrived in New York as part of their North American tour, 2000 fans were gathered to meet them at the airport at 3am!

August 27, 1965 – On tour in America once again, the boys spent the night with Elvis Presley at his home in Perugia Way in Hollywood.

August 29, 1966 – The Beatles gave their last concert performance at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, in front of a crowd of 25,000. This after nine years and over 1,400 live appearances.

August 25, 1967 – The band attended a seminar on Transcendental Meditation led by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.

August 27, 1967 – Brian Epstein, the Beatles manager, died of a drug overdose in his London home.

August 23, 1968 – John, Paul and George continued to work in the studio, completing “Back In The USSR” without Ringo. He had left the day before to go on holiday after tense recording sessions due to Yoko Ono being present.

August 28, 1969 – Paul and Linda’s baby girl Mary was born in London.
