October 17, 1962 – The Beatles made their television debut on Granada TV’s “People and Places.”

October 13, 1963 – The band appeared on “Val Parnell’s Sunday Night at the London Palladium.” 15 million viewers tuned in to the prime time show.

October 14, 1963 – UK papers reporting on the Palladium show coin the phrase “Beatlemania.”

October 12, 1965 – Recording began on the album Rubber Soul.  “Run For Your Life” and “Norwegian Wood” were taped.

October 14, 1966 – It was revealed that Paul was writing the musical score for a movie starring Hayley Mills, called “The Family Way.”

October 11, 1967 – “Yoko Plus Me,” an exhibition, was shown at the Lisson gallery.

October 13, 1968 – The promotional film for “Revolution” was shown on “The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.”

October 16, 1972 – Ringo started to film “That’ll Be The Day.”

October 15, 1976 – Ringo’s “A Dose of Rock and Roll”/”Cryin’ in the US” was released in the UK.

October 12, 1979 – The Beatles compilation album “Rarities” was released in the UL.
