July 7, 1940 – Ringo Starr was born at the Royal Liverpool Children’s Hospital.

July 6, 1957 – Paul met John for the first time when he went to see John’s band, The Quarry Men, play at a garden party on Liverpool.

July 6, 1964 – The world premiere of “A Hard Day’s Night” took place at the London Pavilion. The soundtrack album had sold 1.5 million copies over 9 days. It was the fastest-selling album in UK history.

July 10, 1964 – When the Beatles returned to Liverpool for the hometown premiere of “A Hard Day’s Night,” 150,000 people lined the streets to cheer on the band.

July 10, 1965 – The album, “Beatles VI,” reached the top of the US charts and stayed there for six weeks.

July 8, 1966 – “Paperback Writer” was at the top of the US charts and “Yesterday and Today” was certified gold.

July 8, 1968 – The band was in the studio recording “Ob-La-Di, Ob La Da.”

July 9, 1969 – After a car accident and hospital stay earlier in July, John returned to the studio to record “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” with the rest of the band.

July 9, 1972 – Wings began their European tour at Chateauvallon in France.

July 11, 1988 – John Lennon’s interview with RKO Radio just before he died was released in the UK as a CD called “The Last Word.”
