On December 27, 1963 the London “Times” music critic, Richard Buckle, described Lennon and McCartney as “the greatest composers since Beethoven.”
On October 21, 1964, The Beatles played at the Odeon Cinema in Glasgow. Following the show, 9 fans were arrested after a riot involving hundreds of fans. Cars were overturned and windows were smashed.
On October 5, 1962 “Love Me Do”/”P.S. I Love You” was released in the UK as The Beatles’ first single.
