HI,
I have a original ice cream/ soda fountain backbar I got from an old drug store here in Kansas. It is 9'tall and 12' long. Has the white milk glass doors on the base and the top has the very large mirror in the center with a "please pay when served" coke advertisement looks to be frosted in the center. (neat) Large pillar post go up the sides. Wood appears to be mohagony. Stained glass runs across the top with a 1"1/2 thick marble top. Also has 3 original ice cream advertisement signs sitting on the top. There's a brass badge plate on the front that says "Guarnteed Iceless Specialty Fountain Co. Grand Haven Michigan" The owner says the Backbar was brought in around 1912 ish? It is in excellent condition. I'm wanting to sell this piece for I have no room for it. If anyone would be interested you can contact me by email: dmcguire@usd252.org or cell: 620 437 7561. Thanks,

Yes, Ed. Our site is very much active. Not only do we reminisce here in our blog about all kinds of great retro topics, if you click on our homepage, you'll see we also have an online store filled with all kinds of great retro items! Thank-you so much for your memories of Riverside. I don't know about you, but I haven't been able to go to Six Flags. I think it would bother me too much to see how much things have changed. And yes, I absolutely remember the funhouse with the rotating barrel, along with the moving staircase and undulating walkways. They were a lot of fun!

I found this nostalgic site quite by accident, liked the content so decided to add my two cents. I have more than the average fond memories of Riverside. Its the only place my dad would take me as a youngster, my mom made him, he needed to drink with his racing buddies before, during and after the races. I spent thousands of hours both at the track and the park. Remember the funhouse, with the rotating barrell?. I remember watching the roller coaster and the reaction of the riders. I couldn't get enough of the giant wooden slide in the funhouse. We had friends that built and raced the stock cars. I am surprised at the many internet sites showing the old cars and drivers, so many of which I knew well. Anyway I hope more folks see this and share more memories. Please let me know if you get this, still active?.. Ed
